Zombified Zombie Apocalypse Series Adam Gallardo Books
This is the sequel to Zomburbia and it's just as good. Engaging characters and at the end leaving you wanting more. If you enjoy the zombie genre Zomburbia and Zombified need to be on your bookshelf. Zombified did leave me with a few unanswered questions and it felt as if there would be another book in the series but as of yet there isn't one. Hopefully, at some point we will get a third book.Tags : Amazon.com: Zombified (Zombie Apocalypse Series) (9781617731006): Adam Gallardo: Books,Adam Gallardo,Zombified (Zombie Apocalypse Series),Kensington -Teen,1617731005,Romance - General,Science Fiction - General,High school students,High schools;Fiction.,Schools;Fiction.,Young adult fiction,Zombies,Zombies;Fiction.,Children's BooksAll Ages,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 10-12),Fantasy & Magic,Fiction,Fiction-Science Fiction,Horror,JUVENILE,Juvenile Fiction,Juvenile Fiction Fantasy & Magic,Juvenile Fiction Science Fiction,Juvenile Grades 10-12 Ages 15+,Monograph Series, any,Oregon,School stories,Science Fiction,Science Fiction Fantasy (Young Adult),Science fiction (Children's Teenage),TEEN'S FICTION HORROR & GHOST STORIES,TEEN'S FICTION ROMANCE,TEEN'S FICTION SCIENCE FICTION,United States,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Fantasy General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Horror,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Romance General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Science Fiction General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Zombies,Young Adult FictionFantasy - General,Young Adult FictionZombies,Young adult fiction,Zombies,Zombies;Fiction.,fantasy books; science fiction; science fiction books; zombies; fantasy; teen fiction books; young adult fantasy books; fantasy books for teens; fantasy books for kids age 12-15; zombies books for teens; sci fi; sci-fi; romance; urban fantasy; love triangle; dystopia; sword; adventure; magic; friendship; paranormal; epic; thriller; computers; action; racing; time travel; family; space; future; high school; disability; superheroes; space travel; contemporary; coming of age; horror; genetic engineering; corrupt; technology, science fiction;fantasy;zombies;fantasy books;science fiction books;teen fiction books;young adult fantasy books;fantasy books for teens;zombies books for teens;fantasy books for kids age 12-15;romance;sci-fi;dystopia;sword;adventure;magic;friendship;paranormal;computers;action;time travel;thriller;urban fantasy;epic;family;space;sci fi;future;disability;contemporary;racing;love triangle;superheroes;space travel;high school;coming of age;horror;genetic engineering;corrupt;technology,Fantasy & Magic,Horror,Juvenile Fiction Fantasy & Magic,Juvenile Fiction Science Fiction,Science Fiction,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Fantasy General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Horror,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Romance General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Science Fiction General,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Zombies,Young Adult FictionFantasy - General,Young Adult FictionZombies,Children's BooksAll Ages,Fiction,Oregon,School stories,Science Fiction Fantasy (Young Adult),Children: Young Adult (Gr. 10-12),Science fiction (Children's Teenage)
Zombified Zombie Apocalypse Series Adam Gallardo Books Reviews
The Z-poc sub-genre is getting a bit tired - even for a horror lover like me. However Zombified by Adam Gallardo manages to keep the zombie madness fresh and fun.
Courtney is back - and so is the Vitamin Z - in a take no prisoners brain fest of gnashing teeth, Zombie killers, and a little teen angst. And the Snark is back!
While there's non-stop action, Gallardo takes us to a darker place with this book. Warning - there's a ton of heartbreak ahead. The book is absolutely original and gives us the perfect kick-ass heroine to root for and weep with.
Yes, the Z-poc may be dying, but this series breathes new life into the undead.
5 stars and I want the next book now!

Those who liked ZOMBURBIA, Adam Gallardo's first book in the series, will no doubt like ZOMBIFIED. Book #2 picks up life with Courtney as she continues to struggle through high school.
By struggling I don't mean grades. Courtney is brighter than most when it comes to academics. She just has this problem with judgement in daily life. In book #1 she was selling drugs(don't even get me started, and the girl was selling Z, ground up Zombie brains) out of the window of the Bully Burger. And in this book she finds out that there are more bad consequences that follow. Not to mention some new mistakes.
But next to the snarky fun dialog, Courtney's propensity to make poor choices is one of the things I appreciate about this pair of books. Adam Gallardo makes me feel uncomfortable. And in Z-lit that's uncommon.
I wouldn't say that ZOMBIFIED is better than ZOMBURBIA. Like many-many, (most?) 2nd-books the freshness of the worldbuilding and 'snark' can't be maintained as most everything is familiar and consequently less exciting. But that doesn't mean that ZOMBURBIA isn't fun. It's a light fluffy read. My only complaint was that it seemed a little long. (But almost everything I read these days seems 'a little long', so keep that in mind.)

--some language-drugs-'adult' situations. Lots of snark.
Before I started this book I was a little scared that I'd be overly confused as this is not the first book that features Courtney but as I got farther and farther into it I realized that this book could easily stand alone and I have to admit it had small hints to the first book which made me interested in reading that one.
I really liked Courtney as a character- she seemed like a pretty normal person who was easily liked. She made mistakes, probably more than her fair share of mistakes but they were mistakes that felt as if anyone could have made them.
I did feel some good character growth in there; Phil grew quite a bit as a character. While I always felt he was protective over Courtney he was generally silent and not extremely expressive but as time went on I really got to know more about him.
Zombie novels are often hard to create but the author did a pretty decent job with this one. This story is placed quite a while after the initial 'zombie' attack- in fact the world is quite similar to what we are use to- there's still internet, starbucks and college etc. but everything is shrouded with the fact that there are zombies and while the more 'rich' people have decent fences and securities the 'poor' don't have much in ways of protection (Except of course 911) and that was pretty cool to imagine. I mean- when you think about a zombie invasion you often think of a demolished world without electricity etc. etc. But this world was different and it was kind of fun to picture- I liked the fact that they were not locked behind fences all the time and that they could do the kind of things that these kids managed.
I have to admit there were some confusing parts- like the very weird relationship that Courtney and Crystal seemed to have. While Crystal ran out of her coffee date with Courtney once finding out about Courtney selling Vitamin Z but then later in the story it seems they patched things up as Courtney wanted to be her friend again? I'm not sure if I missed something
I also noticed that a lot of the chapter ended with the main character going to sleep- this part got a little repetitive but since it wasn't that important I let it go.
I would like to read the first book and I've definitely put it on my list. I've got to say that idea of Courtney in NY sounds pretty exciting- I'd love to see what messes she gets herself into there.
Kept me up way past my bedtime!
My 12 year old daughter loved both books!
Light-hearted despite kids dying I am a middle school teacher and in putting g the hard copy on my shelf. Even though its so what some administrators would think of as racy but. Its a fun read and I bet my students are going to swipe it. HA GOOD JOB 😉
In this sequel to Zomburbia, snarky heroine (and my favorite YA character, sorry Katniss) Courtney is back with a zombie killing vengeance. Zombified is as addictive as the first book. That kind of addictive where you can't pull yourself away even though your butt is numb and your tummy is growling and your bladder is screaming . . . Highly recommend this YA series!
