This book picks up where the first one left off. Maya is still upset and confused (rightly so) and now also finds herself pregnant. James wants to be together but she is unsure if she can forgive him.I know that Maya was being difficult and could not make up her mind but I officially stopped rooting for them when James started dating Zara. Sorry but that is inexcusable. Yes they were not together but he wanted (so he says) them to be. Maya was pregnant with his child. Really he couldn't wait nine months to see how it was all going to play out? At first I thought he was doing it to make Maya jealous and have her take a stand. But he was intimate with this other woman! He might not have had sex with her but he says he did other things with her. Really? And while he was living with maya while she was on bed rest.
Sorry...but at that point I was done. I was truly hoping they would not get back together and Maya would find someone else. The book just left me with a feeling of utter disappointment.

I didn't expect much as I've never heard of the author, boy was I in for a surprise!! Beautifully written and characters you want for your friends. Even though the author is not from the US you would never know. Do yourself a favor and buy this series of books you won't be disappointed!
I truly enjoyed reading this series. Well worth the time and money and would highly recommend reading this series to anyone who enjoys reading erotic love stories. It had just the right amount of erotica without being to smutty. Was also a bit of a tear jerker.
Great followup!! No cliffhanger, got my HEA - what more could I ask for!?
I lovvve James and Maya. Again, I experienced every bit of angst and emotion (and there was a lot!) right along side characters. This wasn't about the hot sex, this was about imperfect love, real love. I adore that this was a real love story, with grit and emotion. I highly recommend!
I liked this book. it was as good as it was frustrating. I found myself annoyed and irritated a lot during the book nothing was happening the way the reader hopes. it was a lot of back and forth. That doesn't take away from a good story and great writing. I'm glad this book doesn't end with a cliffhanger...but I am still looking forward to reading Lucas' story and hopefully being filled in more about the other secondary characters that you fall in love with in these first 2 books...Marie, Summer, Jacob, Jessica. And obviously more about James and Maya and Evelyn. This book was good...not as exciting as the 1st book, but still worth the money and the read!
As I was reading the book all I could think was, James is such a douche. Spoilers, he starts dating another girl, accuses Maya of cheating on him, goes through her phone without her knowledge and to top it off, insults her. He has no basis for any of these accusations since he's the one who cheated on her in the first place.Maya says she's not good enough for James. The absolute opposite. This book wasn't the worst I've ever read but I could not get behind this hero. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to books but this one wasn't my cup of tea.
First off...how can anyone not fall in love with Maya and James..throw in their crazy awesome besties..and bam..character nirvana. Having said that...this book was so much deeper than the first...talk about internal struggle. We were left off with a cheating James...and Maya in LA with the stunning Jacob...oh..and don't forget those blue lines...you know the ones that deemed her preggers and forever tethered to James. What's a poor divorcee to do??? Time to face the music...it's not like Sylvia won't hunt her down. So back she goes....back to her new..rather ex brother in law Lucas, to Amelia, to her fantastic friends...to her working across from James..to a home..where?
The entire story is about Maya and her struggle with whether or not she can forgive James from impailing the bony blonde on his office desk. Yes...he loves her..Yes, she loves him...but is love enough??? And the baby...oh goodness. And this gorgeous man, James, who's desperate for his ex-wife, and even more so for his unborn child. It was pure delicious torture....HEA....yeah...We got one..wink, wink. Just read it to see how Murphy gets us there.
Yes, Thank gawd for the way this novel ended! I was ready to hurl Maya over a bridge! Stop it, will you? Stop stringing him along!
Oh, Maya! You annoyed the hell out of me this time! My heart ached with yours. I totally understood your grief and your position. BUT! When things seem to look up, you irritated me to the point my eyes hurt from rolling sooo many freaking times. The pranks, the jokes, the blowing the real problems off. Marie should have been shaking the hell out of you, slapping some sense into you. But then... you saved yourself. It was the reason behind the jokes and the pranks that saved you, girl. And I was so proud of you for stepping up and facing all your fears, shedding those tears, and allowing yourself to feel. Losing your father was hard, I know, but you did it. You stepped up and acknowledged the truth. Yay! Big hug.
But then... you pissed me off again! And then I hurt with you over the whole Zara ordeal, but hell! If that's what it took to make you finally wake up, to see the man who cherishes you, by gawd, it was worth all the heartache.
I soooo loved the delivery scene. Loved all of it. And James, I soo rooted for you and Maya. I ♥'d you all along. But most of all, I ♥ you, Ms. Murphy for the way you ended James and Maya's story. Just absolutely fell in love with this series.
Now we have Lucas, and Jacob and... well, as with any series, when the characters change from the original ones, I wonder if I will like them or love them as much as I do the originals. SO! Lucas, you have a story out there, but man, your asking price is a little much. I need you to drop the price a little for me to take that next step.
