Heir to Edenbrooke edition by Julianne Donaldson Romance eBooks

First off, let me say that I am not a fan of Novellas. 53 pages for $3.99 makes me grouchy. Edenbrooke is my #1 favorite book of all time. I purchased this book before I saw the page count. This book "Heir to Edenbrooke" which is Phillip's point of view of the exact scenes in "Edenbrooke". However it ends at the inn where Phillip and Marianne meet. I thought "Really???" You are ending it here? Why not at the end of Edenbrooke? That is why I am giving it 3 stars. I loved reading what Phillip was thinking and his point of view in meeting Marianne. But am so disappointed at where it ended. I would loved to have known what he thought when he was at the horse races or when he went after Marianne's dad and the fear he felt when he found out that Marianne had been kidnapped. Too much was left out for me to be happy with this purchase. I have a rule that I never purchase books lower then 200 pages and get sucked into the never ending novella's that these authors have started doing to rip off consumers. 53 pages is such a disappointment. I won't purchase another and hope Julianne won't do this to us again.

Heir to Edenbrooke edition by Julianne Donaldson Romance eBooks Reviews

I read "Heir to Edenbrooke" by Julianne Donaldson last night and in one word...there is no words, just to stand up and clap. What classifies good writing to me is reading every single word and see it unfold. The characters, their thoughts, feelings, instead of using my imagination to fill in books that are wanting, replace a faulty storyline with my own. I have always loved reading the way Julianne Donaldson wields words. It doesn't matter if it's 10000000000 words or 100 words. It's quality writing. Don't let your greed get in the way of enjoying this form of artwork. In celebration, I'm rereading my signed copy of Edenbrooke with a love letter my husband wrote me for the first time. Let love conquer, and of course the well written book of Heir to Edenbrooke, and Edenbrooke itself!
Literally enthralled by Edenbrooke, I was jazzed when I noticed this author had written another book about Edenbrooke. However, I bought it before I had time to consider that the "heir" to Edenbrooke could only have been the hero from "Edenbrooke." This might have given me pause since I had already read Philip's and Marianne's book.

Plus, since it has been awhile since I had read Edenbrooke - nearly four years ago - I wasn't savvy enough to realize this book would be the same story as Edenbrooke, with the difference being that it was written from Philip's perspective. So, I suppose that works for many people. Although it was interesting to go back and see exactly why Philip was rude to Marianne when he first met her, it had been explained in the original book to my satisfaction.

Basically, this is a book I could have done without. Yes, Philip is a marvelous man and Marianne was a sweetheart. "On the good side" - a phrase my 8 year old granddaughter often uses - this author does write good, clean romance novels. If only I could find more talented authors who write interesting love stories without all the sexual details.
When I first learned of this novella, November 17th couldn't get here fast enough. I'm thrilled to say it was worth the wait! I subconsciously smiled the entire time I read it. I just loved it! The only thing wrong with it was it's length! In no time at all I was finished reading it and now will have to content myself with patiently waiting for her next book. She's my FAVORITE author and I can't get enough of what she writes, so I will go back to re-read what she's already given us. I wish she'd write a complete addition to Edenbrooke from Philip's perspective. This AMAZING small glimpse will never be enough, but what she gave us was EXCELLENT AND WORTH THE WAIT!
Edenbrooke was one of my favorite books. This novella is such a great addition. I love hearing Philip's side of the story. It makes me love him even more.

Philip is not happy about taking on the role of the heir to Edenbrooke. He doesn't like the scene that comes with it either. He is the most sought after bachelor in London. When things get too overwhelming for him, Philip decides to run.

When Philip stops running for the night he stops at a little inn. There his life changes forever. He meets Marianne. The rest is history ).

If you liked Edenbrooke then you will love Heir to Edenbrooke. Philip's side of the story is so sweet.
Not nearly as good as I expected. I have a pretty high opinion of Edenbrooke but this almost made me like that one less. I think it would have worked as a full novel but it ended at the part where you actually want to see what was going on in his head. I wanted to see his side of her falling in the river...twice. I wanted to see his side of the love letter. I guess I imagined him to be more romantic in my head but I only got to see the self-absorbed Phillip.
When I first read Edenbrooke I didn't know if I was going to like it, but I instantly fell in love with it. When I saw that Julianne Donaldson was writing a short prequel to Edenbrooke I was ecstatic. This
Short novella made Edenbrooke even more enjoyable. Getting to read Philips perspective when he first meets Marianne is priceless. It was also interesting to know what his true feelings for her sister Cecily were as well as the rest of the superficial ladies of the ton. I loved the Bantering between he and Marianne even more from his perspective. This book really made the whole story more compete with both perspectives. I wish it would continue all the way to the end of his perspective. Thank you Julianne Donaldson for giving us some more time with the lovely Philip.
I really like Edenbrook and Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson but I feel like Heir to Edenbrooke wasn't worth the $3.99 I spent on it. It didn't give a whole lot of new insight into Phillip that you don't already know for Edenbrooke. It took me less than 15 minutes to read so even for a novella, its really short.
